In-house Secure Internet Servers
Netshop has it's own in-house Secure Internet Servers which use Secure Socket Layers
(SSL), an advanced internet security system. They encrypt all your personal information
including your credit or debit card number, name and address before being transmitted
to us. This prevents your data from being read or accessed by any third party. To
take advantage of secure transactions your browser needs to support SSL and have
it enabled. Most modern browsers now support SSL encryption as standard and have
it activated as their default setting.
Firewall
In addition, Netshop utilise a properly implemented firewall, which is regularly
monitored. For additional security, our servers are housed in a secure, locked,
air-conditioned comms room, with access limited to designated personnel only.
100% Secure Credit Card Transactions
At Netshop we have been taking Credit, Debit and Charge Card Orders via our in-house
Internet Server since May 1997. During that time we have never had a single reported
instance of fraudulent use of a customer's card. We are so confident in our transaction
security on the Netshop site, that we now back up every on-line purchase with our
Safe Shopping Guarantee.
Safe Shopping
In the event of any fraudulent or unauthorised use of your credit, debit or charge
card the majority of banks and card issuers either cover all the charges that result
from that unauthorised use, or it may limit your liability to just £50.
